Our Awesome Coaches & Managers
Our coaches and managers are TERRIFIC! We are all VOLUNTEERS!!! The team is so fortunate that they each share their time and talent with our swimmers.
Coach Lorin Broome and Coach Amanda Ott have been with the summer swim program since it began over 20+ seasons ago. They were part of the team to organize the summer league with Tricia Lee and others. Coach Jennifer Ponsiego, our young swimmer coach, has been with the program 15+ years. Our managers Nancy Moore and Jody Earl have been with the team a long time too - they just have lost count exactly how many years. A recent addition to the admin team is Jaime Troost. She has been a wonderful and energetic addition to our team. Her creativity and love for the sport of swimming is infectious!
All six of us have had our kids participate in the swim program and while many of the kids are too "old" to compete, they are still involved. Amanda Ponsiego is Jennifer's "right hand" and has a sweet heart for our young swimmers, just like her Mom. Many of our kids still come back to help coach/admin when they can and help at the swim meets. Ryan Cate, Lily Sullivan and McKay Moore to to name a few. We love it when they come back!!!
We also have wonderful youth swim coaches. They are HEROES and HEROINES to our young swimmers. Many of these swimmers are year round swimmers, part of the high school swim team or regular summer team members. They help at our 8:30am beginner class and the 11:00am guppy class. They also still attend the 11+ practice and compete in swim meats. They are the heart and soul of the team. They generously volunteer their time and talent to the team. We are so grateful for them.
Our goal is to share our love of swimming with the kids enrolled in the program. One because we truly enjoy working together and have become a "fine oiled machine". But two, we like to have fun and look forward the month of June each year!!!! We truly are committed to helping each swimmer reach their personal best in the sport of swimming!
The improvement in each swimmer is really something that truly motivates us!!! And we really enjoy celebrating in each swimmers personal success!!!! We hope you will come have FUN with us!
